
Ilan Pappe
The director of the European Centre for Palestine Studies
Born in 1954 in Haifa, Israel. Received his D. Phil from the University of Oxford in 1984. Taught at the University of Haifa, 1984-2007. Teaches at the University of Exeter, United Kingdom. Pappe is the director of the European Centre for Palestine Studies in the Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies at the University of Exeter. Pappe is the author of 20 books and numerous articles. Among his books: The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine (2007); The Modern Middle East (2010); On Palestine (with Noam Chomsky) (2012). His most recent books are The Ten Myths of Israel (2017) and The Biggest Prison on Earth: a History of the Israeli Occupation (2018).
